Recently, counterpoint, a market research organization, released the latest research report on the wearable device market. According to the report, as of the third quarter of 2020, TWS earphones and smart watches continue to support the wearable device market, accounting for 93% of the total shipment volume. Among them, TWS earphones grow the fastest. It is expected that the annual shipment volume of TWS earphones in 2020 will increase by 83%, reaching 238 million units.

Liz Lee, a senior analyst at counterpoint, said that the cancellation of headphone interface and the packaging of mobile devices without earphones are becoming a major driving force for the growth of the real wireless headphone market, and TWS real wireless headphones are becoming a necessary accessory.

Starting from the fourth quarter of 2020, with apple, Xiaomi and Samsung's three major mobile phone brands streamlining their product packaging boxes out of their own ideas, and no longer providing accessories such as wired headphones or audio conversion lines, it may drive a new wave of growth in the shipment of true wireless headphones, but this report has not yet been included in the statistics.

Apple's iPhone 12 series phones no longer come with standard power adapters and earpods wired headphones, and the old models on Apple's official website no longer come with the above accessories, but reduce the price of related products. Apple has stopped selling most of its third-party brand headphones and speakers in official channels, making way for its own airpods. Samsung's original AKG cable headset has a similar experience with Apple's earpods, accompanied by Samsung's multi generation products. However, Samsung's latest S21 series of three products are no longer standard. However, compared with apple, Samsung's official website includes Samsung Galaxy buses series and its AKG brand headphones, with a variety of products, giving consumers more choices. In terms of market share, counterpoint's report shows that the top 10 brands of true wireless headphones in terms of shipment volume are apple, Xiaomi, Samsung, JBL, qcy, jlab, Jabra, Sony, Edifier walkers and realme.

Among the ten brands on the list, there are five smart phone manufacturers including apple, Xiaomi, Samsung, Sony and realme; four brands including Xiaomi, qcy, rambler and realme come from China; the average price of half brands is less than $50 or even less than $20, and the most representative is Xiaomi with high sales volume. Realme also relies on its success in Southeast Asia market to enter the list.
